If you’re starting a small clothing business and you don’t have the budget for custom manufacturing yet, chances are you’ve already eyed Shein as a quick way to stack up some trendy pieces.
Honestly, I get it; the prices are low, the styles move fast and it’s tempting to just load up your cart and call it a “wholesale order.”
But here’s the real story: Shein doesn’t offer wholesale. Not the business accounts, not the bulk discounts, not the manufacturer-direct perks, none of it.
What they do give you is the ability to buy multiple units of the same item (usually up to around 99 pieces), which a lot of small sellers use as a stepping stone while they figure things out.
So in this guide, I’m breaking down everything you need to know about buying Shein wholesale such as; what’s allowed, what’ll get you in trouble and what alternatives exist if you want to move from “side hustle reseller” to a proper clothing brand.
I’ll also walk you through my own experience ordering large quantities from Shein, the limitations I ran into, and the tips that’ll save you money, time, and a couple of headaches.
Important: Shein still doesn’t offer any official wholesale program. You can buy multiple units of an item, but it’s not wholesale pricing, not manufacturer-direct, and not meant for business reselling. Stock rotates quickly, and you can’t rely on long-term restocking.
Buying Shein Wholesale – Is It a Good Idea?
Can i get Shein clothes in bulk in 2025?
You can buy in “bulk” (up to ~99 pieces per item), but that’s still retail pricing. No business accounts, no discounted wholesale rates, no MOQ-based pricing tiers. Since Shein rotates inventory super fast, the same item won’t stay available long enough for reliable restocking.
However, there are alternative ways to acquire a large quantity of clothes similar to what Shein offers:
- Third-party sellers: You can find third-party sellers online, like on Alibaba, that claim to sell clothes in bulk that are similar to Shein’s offerings. Be cautious when dealing with these sellers, as there is a higher risk of scams and counterfeit products. It’s important to thoroughly research the seller and understand their return policy before making a purchase.
- Liquidation sales: Occasionally, you might find liquidation sales where stores or distributors sell excess inventory at a discounted price. These sales can be a good way to find clothes in bulk, but the selection and quality may vary.
Why Buy Wholesale from Shein?
Before I can get into my experience buying clothes in bulk from Shein, I want to explain why I recommend Shein for wholesale buying and what benefits come with using them as your primary supplier.
- Firstly, Shein is not a manufacturer. They’re a fast-fashion retailer that sources from hundreds of factories. You get trendy items, yes, but not manufacturer-direct pricing or consistency.
- Shein’s quality swings both ways. Some items are great for the price, others feel like they’re on a timer. It’s fast fashion, good for testing trends but not long-term inventory.
- Free delivery depends on hitting a minimum order value. Shipping is still decently fast for a China-based retailer, but not consistently free.
- Shein has nearly every size available and as a business owner you can take advantage of this and stock up on different size clothes and draw in a larger audience thanks to your unique selection.
- Finally, the customer support team at Shein is quite helpful and truth be told they are one of the best in the industry, so you can expect fast resolutions to your problems and this makes them easier to work with.
My Experience Buying Wholesale from Shein
Okay, so I had a positive experience buying clothes in bulk from Shein and everything from selecting the clothes to completing the transaction was super easy and straightforward.
I could buy up to 99 pieces of a single item and that number can vary as it is based on how many are in stock at any given time.
Also, if i had to buy different sizes or colors of a single item, then I had to set the quantity of one color and size and add that to the cart, then select the quantity for the next color and size and have those added to the cart and so on and so forth.
So while this was the only time consuming process, there’s also a possibility while selecting different variants that Shein might run out of stock or the number I was going for was not available and I would have to update my cart with the new order quantity.
That’s the only problem when buying wholesale from a retail store, but what to do when the prices are so low and their clothes are so popular?
Compromise.
Anyway, after adding the products to the cart I was given the option to pay for the order in any way I’d like, from Credit / Debit cards to PayPal and there were even options to convert the whole amount into easy installments by choosing to pay for the order with Afterpay or Klarna.

However, choosing the installment options meant that there was a cap on the overall order value and I was unable to use Afterpay or Klarna if my order was over $1000. So for more expensive orders I had to resort to paying with my credit card or debit card.
Here are the steps you can follow to buy Shein clothes in bulk;
- Login to your registered Shein account.
- If you don’t have one, create a new account

- Next, search for products that are new and popular or depending on the niche and market you’re targeting.
- Now, select the product and then choose the size, color, quantity and add it to the cart.

- Proceed to the checkout page and enter your billing information and move onto the payment page
- Select the mode of payment, enter the details and process the order

- You will receive the shipment within the stipulated time frame which is normally 7-10 days within the US
- If the order is a large one and if there’s going to be a delay, the Shein support team will notify you about any changes and you can then plan ahead.
It’s as simple as that, there’s no roundabout method to buying in bulk on Shein. In fact, because the procedure is so easy, many small businesses have resorted to buying directly from Shein as it saves them time.
Does Shein Allow Businesses to Resell their Clothes?
Officially? No, Shein’s Terms of Use prohibit commercial reselling of their branded products without any authorization and they can hold the seller liable for damages if deemed fit.
In reality, thousands of small sellers flip Shein items quietly. Shein rarely intervenes unless you either remove their tags and rebrand the clothing, sell large volumes in a visible storefront or claim to be an official Shein partner.
If you’re reselling to a small local audience, it generally flies under the radar but it’s still technically against the rules.
Helpful Tips for Buying Shein Wholesale
Now that you know how easy it is to buy clothes in bulk from Shein, let me give you a couple of pointers on how to make the most of Shein.
Tip 1 — Make sure to check out offers and discounts
Now Shein is a website that’s riddled with discounts and offers that can bring down the price of their clothes to bare minimum. Flash sales happen on a regular basis and you can take advantage of these sales to buy clothes for lower than their regular selling price.
You can also use discount codes and coupons to bring the price of an item down and the only drawback is that coupons can not be applied on already discounted products like those that are a part of the flash sale.
Another way to save money while buying clothes in bulk is to use the Shein Coupon Finder plugin for Google Chrome and this tool will pull up all the valid coupons that can be applied. Some may not even be available on the website, so it’s a good idea to try this out.
Tip 2 — Keep a close eye on the stock rotation
Since Shein doesn’t like to overproduce clothes and they tend to switch between trends as the seasons change, it’s a good idea to shop from Shein just before they change their collection.
The thing is that in order to get rid of old collections, Shein tends to run discounts on them in a bid to move the clothes out of their warehouse.
This is the perfect time to swoop in and make a saving on your purchases. In this way you can make a higher profit as you’re getting them at a much cheaper price than earlier.
Tip 3 — Consider Shein’s returns and refund policy while buying in bulk
Shein has a limited 45 day return policy and if you’re buying clothes in bulk and your customers are unable to wear them either because of structural damage or a wrong size then you must return the item to Shein within their refund period.
This means that tags and the original bag should be returned along with the item and only then will you be eligible for a refund or replacement. If you fail to return the order in the 45 day period then your return will not be counted and no refund will be issued even if you’ve bought the item in bulk.
Tip 4 — You may get charged for customs and duties
One more thing to remember while shopping from Shein is your local customs policy and what can be done in the event of importing clothes in bulk.
Some countries permit clothes to be brought in without any customs charge while some charge a fee based on the number of items in the shipment, the value of the shipment and the overall weight.
Since Shein has been doing this for ages, they are familiar with the whole customs process of the countries they ship to. So at times they can even split an order into two or more packages just to avoid paying customs.
Ensuring your package doesn’t attract customs will greatly help your business flourish as you wouldn’t have to pay any extra or additional fee to your customs department.
How to Source Shein Clothes from their Manufacturer?
Shein doesn’t publicly reveal their manufacturers, so there’s no verified “Shein factory” you can go directly to. They work with hundreds of suppliers across different regions in China, and none of them are officially confirmed.
If you want products similar to Shein’s style, the best approach is sourcing from OEM/ODM suppliers on Alibaba or other Chinese wholesale platforms. These suppliers can add your labels, packaging, and tags which lets you build your own brand without any trademark headaches.
Agents only make sense if you’re buying directly from factories and not Shein. For Shein itself, they add more risk than benefit.
Can I Use an Agent to Buy in Bulk from Shein?
While there are agents who can source clothes in bulk for you, I wouldn’t recommend using them as the entire process on Shein is easy and you won’t have to risk relying on any third-party agent or promoter to get your hands on Shein clothes.
It’s also unsafe to use these agents as they can sometimes run away with your money, not provide any assistance or deliver the wrong product just to make a quick buck.
Takeaway
Well, there you have it, everything you need to know about buying Shein clothes in bulk. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that you can not under any circumstance resell Shein clothes with their tags on or by advertising your business as an “Official Shein Distributor” as this is frowned upon and can land you in trouble.
You can buy from Shein in bulk, but it’s still retail. If you want to run a proper clothing business, Shein is great for testing trends and not for building long-term inventory. For serious scaling, shift to OEM suppliers who manufacture similar styles under your own brand.
