Are Chinese Projectors Worth it?

Chinese projectors have been quite a hit in the electronics market. I’ve sourced a lot of these Chinese projectors because there’s been a huge demand in Europe & Africa and South America. The only reason being, they are ultra cheap home theater alternatives.

Of all the projector sourcing experience, here’s my thought on how to pick a projector out.

1. Bulb Life
2. Projectors that serve Ads
3. Incompatible Projectors

If you steer clear from the super cheap projectors, then you’ll get one that will last more than 2 years. The projector has a bulb life and Cheap chinese projectors are notorious for conking out within a year. Avoid the ultra cheap ones.

Another one is the Ads. Xiaomi’s projector serves ads and that’s why they are able to sell for cheap. You might want to avoid that if you hate ads. You’ll be shown an ad everytime you boot the projector. Really annoying!

And thirdly, some of the super cheap ones don’t have enough HDMI ports, TV ports and so on. They cheap out by adding less ports.

Although the 2800 lumens might not seem much, it’s only a mini projector and has a 130-inch display range.It has a 2000 : 1 contrast ratio.

Luminosity is the biggest factor for a projector. You can get a projector with 1000 lumens or 5000 lumens. But what is the difference? 

Basically when your room is dark, you need lesser lumens and if your room is bright, you require more lumens. It’s as simple as that.
